Koi Pond with waterlillies and large stones in the water.

How Can I Make My Pond Look Better?

Ponds are aesthetic and a true treat to the eyes. But there are so many features you can add to your pond to make it appear even better than it already is. Because we are firm believers in “the more the merrier!”

When you add more features and decorations to your pond, it will not only add to the beauty of it but it will also attract nature. Who doesn’t like a couple dragonflies dipping down to take a sip or sunbathing bullfrogs on the floating leaves?

Let’s find out what are some of the features you can instantly add to your pond to make it look better without having to spend a fortune on it.

Give your Pond Flora and Fauna

Plans are a sure way to light up your pond with colors and life. There are plenty of varieties you can choose from bog to marginal to floating and submerged plants.

Get Creative

Add a container pond with stained-glass water lily.

There cannot be anything as beautiful and sophisticated as a floating water lily in a pond. The best part is that it is low maintenance and won’t burn a hole in your wallet.

Throw some paving stones around

Surround your pond with some paving stone to give it a more polished look. The pavers may sound mediocre but once you place them in the surrounding area of your pond, it will change the whole landscape.

A whiskey barrel

If you love waterfalls, but your pond is too small for putting a waterfall feature in it, we have just the right thing for you! Add a small whiskey barrel to your pond in place of a waterfall. It does not take up a lot of space. And did we already mention that it is also low maintenance?

You can purchase it in a kit and voila!

A Two Tier Wooden Frame

If you have a raised pond in your garden or backyard, adding this feature will give your pond a posh look. However, it will require some planning but the end result will be totally worth it.

Put some rocks

If your pond doesn’t already have rocks, we suggest that add them instantly. Rocks work much more than being simple decoration. You can use them to contour the base of your pond. You can also place them around the edges.
